Unsportsmanlike Conduct
So. You're a R/Mo - you have no resurrection signet or skills. It's 4 on 1.
You can do one of two things:
1) Fight to your last breath, die fighting. Lose the game with honor. Maybe take one or two with you - but this would be hard since the only skills you took to do damage are barbed trap and distracting shot.
2) Use skills like escape, dodge, troll ungent, mend condition, remove hex to run around the arena for 1 hour, 25 minutes hoping that players will get annoyed and quit.
Eventually, we did just that.
While I beleive this has been discussed before, should you enter the competition arena's with a character's name that starts with "Are you" and end with "annoyed yet", I advise quitting immediately. Not naming any names, of course.
Unfortunately, our team was a W/Mo, W/Mo, N/E, and W/N and warrior sprint only provides a +25% increase in speed. Despite numerous sucessfulll cut-offs and block ins, I was the only one with hamstring - while I could interrupt the mend condition, its cool down time is too short to do much about it. This player continued to taunt us repeatedly, saying "LOLz I would own u 1 on 1". So we did just that one on one. Guess what the player did once he started losing? Troll signet, run again. "Ok, I will 1 on 1, but you're not allowed using..." bla bla bla, and begins imposing conditions. It is unfortunate we didn't have any mesmer between us, or the fight would have been quick indeed.
I would like to send my congrats out to this individual, for wasting 4 people's gaming time. Luckily his/her own team mates quit out about 20 minutes into this childlike behaviour, and their time was not wasted. (And they even berated this person before they left)
Unfortunately this type of behaviour is becoming more and more prevalent in the competition arenas, and I think i'm done in there for a while. While I agree that retreat is sometimes a good strategy, but if you have no chance of reviving fallen team mates, and the odds of you winning are vanishingly small (i.e. 4 on 1) - do the honorable thing, and resign. To do otherwise is simply stupid and childish.
